Who is Melanie Hodgkiss?
Melanie is a 50 year old mother, grandmother and great grandmother living in Derbyshire. Becoming a published author was something she always dreamed about but never thought she would achieve.
Melanie is now the successful author of the SkinWalker Academy sci-fi book.
Her books have been published to great acclaim and she even achieved an International Impact Book Award. She is proud to be able to prove to her grandchildren that anything is possible if you work hard and put your mind to it!

Simian Books is a new independent bookshop based in Derbyshire UK. We wanted to create a place where children and parents could find good quality new and used kids books at an affordable price. Our ethics are routed in being sustainable, ethical and diverse. We believe that books are for all, no matter what the budget and should be representative of all.
